Carrots for Beauty

Welcome Spring with a whole new you by eating healthier and looking good! Take a look below for 2 quick tips on what non-conspicuous carrots can do for you!

Carrot Tip #1

Did you know that eating more carrots can help reduce and/or maintain your weight more easily? You can reduce the calories you take in by eating a carrot before or during your meals. The bulky carrot leaves no room in the stomach for extra sweets such as ice cream or cheese cake. This way, your stomach doesn't have a chance to want more. However, if you are not a fan of carrots, the same results can be obtained by eating other low-calorie veggies such as cucumbers or tomatoes.

Carrot Tip #2

Homemade Carrot Facial is a fabulous (and inexpensive) way to take care of your skin. It smooths, moisturizes, and replenishes the youthful look of your skin without the extra chemicals. If this sounds like something you want to try, check out the instructions below:

1. Using a food processor, crush fresh carrots** into a paste (fresh carrots contain higher nutritive properties and moisture)
2. Apply to the face
3. Leave for 20 minutes then rinse with cool-warm water

**If you want to leave with an even fresher result, combine your carrot mixture with grated cucumbers.

So for a more natural healthier looking body, hop on over to your nearest Kin's and enjoy the healthier side of life.

Storing Bread

Crusty rolls and bread, such as Pasta Dura, are best stored in a paper bag and eaten fresh on the day they are baked. Other breads should be stored at room temperature in a cotton bread bag, well ventilated bread bin or plastic bag to prevent the bread from drying out. How to pick the perfect avacado:

To test if an avacado is ripe, gently press it: it should give slightly. Sometimes the avacados are too hard and need a day or two to ripen, to accelerate the process place it in a paper bag with a banana. Ethylene gasses emitted by the banana will speed the ripening of your avacado.

To prepare an avacado cut it lenghtwise with a knife, cutting around the pit. Rotate the halves to seperate. Set the half on your hand and very carfully, using the heel of the knife blade, strike the pit and twist to draw it out. To remove the flesh ease a spoon between the flesh and skin or peel the skin with a knife. Or while still on the skin, cut the flesh into cubes then use the spoon to remove it.
