Earth Hour at the Market

Earth Hour is a movement which started in 2006 in Sydney, Australia. By the next year, more than 2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour to protest against climate change. In 2010, the movement had grown to hundreds of millions of people worldwide. In 2011, Earth Hour saw hundreds of millions of people across 135 countries switch off for an hour. But it also marked the start of something new – going Beyond the Hour to commit to lasting action on climate change.

Lonsdale Quay Market will switch off the ‘Q Tower’ and any excess lights and electronics to show its support.
