Market Tasting Tours: Explore the Market’s sprawling array of food and beverage options and meet the experts who prepare them. Sample both locally made products and imported delicacies, and learn about the processes of making and sourcing these culinary treats. The session times are as follow:
• Thursday, 5:30pm – 6:30pm
• Friday, 5:30pm – 6:30pm
• Saturday Session A: 2:00pm – 3:00pm
• Saturday Session B: 4:00pm – 5:00pm
• Sunday, 2:00pm – 3:00pm
Educational Seminars: This year`s Savour will host two informative culinary seminars. On Saturday, October 24th, at 3:30pm, Artisan Wine Shop sommeliers will lead visitors through a Wine and Cheese pairing seminar, featuring locally grown grapes and high-quality BC VQA wines, as well as local fresh cheese from Vancouver Island. Then, on Sunday, October 25, at 10:30am, coffee connoisseurs, Bean Around the World, will show participants how to make perfect coffee in the comfort of their own home.
Culinary Showcase: Saturday, October 24 features a one-hour culinary showcase from a selection of gifted and experienced chefs from the Market. From 12:00-1:00pm, watch as chefs from The Sandwich Shop create kimchi from scratch and learn how to use it creatively in your cooking, as well as gourmet meat preparation with Sharky's Chophouse.
Hands-on Workshops: On Sunday, October 25, 3:30pm, Bowen Island Pizza Co. show you how to make their infamously perfect thin, crispy and organic pizza base. Bring your dough home and make pizza for dinner! Kids don`t miss out, either, with a sugar cookies making workshop run by El Dorado on Sunday, October 25, at 1:00pm, where kids can decorate their own sugar cookie to take home.
Kids Crafts: There will also be kids craft activities on Saturday, October 24 from 1pm to 5pm, and Sunday, October 5 from 1pm to 5pm.
